Common Questions
Tarangire is famous for elephants (often in large herds), plus lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffalos, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and over 500 bird species.
Dry season (June-October) offers best wildlife viewing as animals concentrate around the river. Wet season (November-May) has lush scenery and baby animals.
While smaller, Tarangire offers similar wildlife density during dry season, fewer tourists, unique baobab landscapes, and excellent value.
